What to expect

In the former swimmingpool

The Lumeum is located in the former swimming pool of the historic guesthouse Kloster Bethanien in St. Niklausen, in the canton of Obwalden, above Kerns at an altitude of 800 metres above sea level.

Nestled in a peaceful setting with views of the surrounding mountains and Lake Sarnen — a place that radiates both inspiration and tranquillity.

In the former swimming pool of the Bethanien monastery, an extraordinary space awaits you, now entirely dedicated to the 360° film experience. Where water once splashed, visitors now immerse themselves in a world of light, images and sound. The unique architecture of the space creates an atmosphere that intensifies the experience and makes your visit something truly special.

What to expect

The show is projected onto a 360° screen covering all four walls and the floor. You can move freely around the room, sit on wooden benches or steps, or watch the show standing up. The 16-channel surround sound system uses spatial audio positioning to create targeted sound events from different directions. It directs your attention to corresponding image sequences in the room. Image, sound and space merge into an immersive overall experience. You are right in the middle of the action.
