The Lumeum is located in the former swimming pool of the historic guesthouse Kloster Bethanien in St. Niklausen, in the canton of Obwalden, above Kerns at an altitude of 800 metres above sea level.
Nestled in a peaceful setting with views of the surrounding mountains and Lake Sarnen — a place that radiates both inspiration and tranquillity.

Nicholas of Flüe and Dorothy Wyss: A Spiritual Path to Peace
In a time marked by the Burgundian Wars and the divisions of the Confederation, Nicholas proved to be that humble mediator who, through his words and example, prevented Switzerland from breaking apart. Dorothy was the silent yet powerful pillar – the one who carried the family and made this singular calling possible.
Even today, they remain luminous examples of courage that breaks the complicit silence in the face of injustice.
We share the same wish: peace for each person, in their intimacy as in the world, near and far.
We live and work in the canton that was their homeland. Their values – dialogue, faith in God, and humanity – resonate today with renewed urgency.
An experience that invites reflection. And makes us strong. A place that connects. A project for peace.
