Lumeum is a project of the Bethanien Association, which consists of the religious communities ‘Dominican Sisters of Bethanien’ and ‘Chemin Neuf’.
The Lumeum is located in the former swimming pool of the historic guesthouse Kloster Bethanien in St. Niklausen, in the canton of Obwalden, above Kerns at an altitude of 800 metres above sea level.
Nestled in a peaceful setting with views of the surrounding mountains and Lake Sarnen — a place that radiates both inspiration and tranquillity.
Lumeum is a project of the Bethanien Association, which consists of the religious communities ‘Dominican Sisters of Bethanien’ and ‘Chemin Neuf’.
Since 2012, the Bethanien Association has been connecting the traditional religious community of the Dominican Sisters of Bethany with the newer Chemin Neuf community. Both have a lasting impact on the place – the former through their open religious life, the latter through their work at the guest house and their pastoral and spiritual care.
An outstanding example of the association's commitment is Lumeum. This project reflects the values of the association and invites visitors to engage intensively with cultural and spiritual themes. By combining tradition and innovation, the Bethanien Association makes a significant contribution to keeping cultural heritage alive and making it accessible using contemporary means.
