The Lumeum is located in the former swimming pool of the historic guesthouse Kloster Bethanien in St. Niklausen, in the canton of Obwalden, above Kerns at an altitude of 800 metres above sea level.

Lumeum is located in St. Niklausen, above Sarnen in the canton of Obwalden. It is easy to reach by public transport, car or coach. From Sarnen railway station, you can easily reach Lumeum by taking the PostBus towards St. Niklausen. Visitors travelling by car or coach are advised to take the A8 exit Sarnen Nord.

From Lucerne, take the train to Sarnen. From Sarnen railway station, take the PostBus line 343 (Melchtal–Stöckalp) to St. Niklausen, stopping at ‘Alte Post’. Follow the dirt road (‘Weidlistrasse’) for approx. 5–10 minutes to reach Bethanien Monastery and the Lumeum.
